I don’t think there are specific steps you can take to be apart of that 1%. They only host the encrypted version of your vault. So as long as you understand and trust the encryption, you don’t have to worry about trusting the company specifically as all the encryption and decryption of your vault happens only on your local machine. So either way you’re placing trust in something…you always will be. Do you have the know how to audit all the code before you use a piece of software? If so, do you actually go through all the code and verify it’s doing what it says it does? Your argument can be used against you using any software.
